Not too much being done on the crucial Research & Development side of things

I have always thought that all they need to do is roll out the latest technologies and get as many customers as possible. please enlighten us what kind of R&D an isp needs.

the I.T industry is very dynamic field. and i agree that ak needs to do R n D on current and emerging technological trends. i dont know whether this was done, since it can be done and fail for other reasons.

Pheeew AK is a dying horse unless they
1. Sell their loss making IT segment
2. Solve the depreciation issue...saying it´s because of foreign exchange losses the AK mngmnt is running away from the real issue which is DEPRECIATION.
3. Sell themselves at 5 bob because at the current price no crazy man would buy them.

Happy Boxing Day

@Tommy, you answered your own question. Look at all the leading tech companies in the world. They are either on the leading edge of technology (e.g Google, Yahoo, Safaricom) or at least make it SEEM like they are at the forefront (e.g Microsoft, Facebook, Orange). AK does none of these. They are beginning to remind me of AOL. Remember AOL from back in the 90s/ early 00s?

access should reinvent themselves. Access cables runs right outside my house. Wananchi also runs by. But Wananchi have sent young boys and girls right across the neighbourhood recruiting us and pulling internet cables into our homes. They will be adding value with voice and cable tv. All for 1k.

Those statistics are grossly misleading. The statistics assume that everyone with a internet enabled phone is a subscriber. My granny has never used the internet although her phone has the feature. Plus have they counted all the users in a corporate or the corporate is counted as a single user. They should have done this by bandwidth and not user.
As vvs would say 'another case of terrible media research and reporting'.

BBI will solve it
