So now KQ600 is KQ80 http://www.businessdaily.../-/uhots4z/-/index.html
The workers union representing a majority of Kenya Airways employees has said it does not anticipate further retrenchments at the national carrier following Friday’s sacking of 80 staff. The Kenya Aviation Workers Union, whose membership comprises about 2,500 KQ staffers, says the airline’s management has agreed to limit the number of sacked employees significantly below the initial estimate of 600. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@maich true sorta it was a loan from coop. however, once they start working, they pay a monthly stipend.
@enyaands Also, dont know any watotos of "who is who" in this fraternity as is the common misconception here. Most of them are hard working wananchis with a passion to fly. There is a shortage of engineers and pilots as we speak. Lots of them have headed out to the gulf.

No one is holding the other by the balls it is a BIG problem that is facing the aviation industry. Fight for skilled experienced labour. The Gulf carriers are growing so fast and are sucking up Kenyan talent in the process a fact KQ underestimated for a very long time despite numerous warnings. KQ is now stable from a cashflow perspective but the threat from the exits is REAL and may ground some aircrafts moving forward if nothing is done. If you want to see it yourself just open a linked in account and update your CV as a pilot with over 3000 jet hours. You will get an invite for a pilot job interview application within 2 weeks. For technicians it is even worse.
