Wah!!! This is very serious! You mean after the value of assests held by banks grew by a mere 17.6% in 2023, in 2024 it dropped by a massive 1.6%!!?? And what's even more horrifying, there is a point before the 6!!!

People really need to avoid over exposure to the growing banks profitability and dividends!!!

That's FX.
KES/USD from 130 to 160 hence the gains in (FX) assets in KES terms.

Am being sarcastic. Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Hehe. Yaani even sarcasm imekuwa shida kudeliver. Anywho https://x.com/kasiva_mut...957726884361388293?s=19[/quote]
KQ alipe deni to help the banks, ama?

They are in for another 6.5 Billion loan as strategic investors search seems to have hit headwinds.

Loan manenos...

Where would KQ be without the banks (and the government)!!???
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

How now? Misused how?

You guys believe people with more skin in the game like James Mwangi and Gideon Muriuki will do things to eff up something they stand to lose the most if things go south!!??

People who are the single largest individual shareholders are presiding over the demise of the same? Let's get real!!

James Mwangi for example earned 542.4 million dividends from Equity FY 2024.

If he effs up your 10k, 100k, 1m or even 10m dividends he effs up his 542m!! When your dividends grow from 10k to 20k, his grow to a billion plus!!!

Who do you think would more worried by the performance of the bank!!??

And even away from the bank, his whole persona is defined by the bank! He derives even his international recognition and responsibilities from that. He effs the bank up and he takes a personal hit beyond money.

I personally I'm not worried by some of these small small rumours and allegations. Only fundamentals.

Markets are forward looking they don't drive using the rearview mirror. In the short-term markets are voting for the next frontiers of capital. Banking is starting to fade in the background

A statement like "Lazy Kenyan bankers" can only be made courtesy of a rare view mirror unless it is just a wild random statement.

You cannot label someone/people as lazy based on the future/forward looking now can you? You base such statements on past performance/experience.
