ATMs run out of cash

The Greek parliament has backed plans for a referendum on international creditors' terms for a new bailout.
The 5 July referendum was called by PM Alexis Tsipras, who opposes further budget cuts. He urged voters to deliver a "resounding 'no'" to the package.

Eurozone partners have criticised Greece's referendum announcement, and rejected its request to extend the bailout programme beyond 30 June.
Greece could default on a €1.6bn (£1.1bn) IMF repayment due on that day.

6 day bank holiday declared to avoid bank runs. Yes, the banks will remain shut for those 6 days with a 60 euro ATM withdrawal limit per day.

Obviously Hellena has defaulted on IMF as tomorrow's deadline will come and go without paying a dime. How is this not a default?

how do you survive with 60 euros/day.tough times indeed

57 countries hold signing ceremony to launch China-led bank

Finally the AIIB has been launched and many Washington allies are on board.

Not a nice week for IMF lot.

@hisah what more can you say about this? The Sino-Indo physical holding might is known. Will it eventually show on the referencing?

For now though India must be pleased with the current prices considering their current account smile

Once all the chips fall into place we'll get to see why they've been hoarding gold like madness. I believe once gold fix pushes price below $1080/Oz the move will begin. Stay tuned.

@cde - BRICS bank aka NDB will be officially operational from July 9 after the summit in Ufa, Russia.

So that means AIIB and NDB will now be in full gear this month. Let's see how greece pans out. Exciting times ahead, but not for IMF and allied banksters.

So that's a re-tracement before the upswing. Alright. Was reading some WGC report and India wanjiku prefer that to banking/fiat - cultural. I think Gold producers are hurting unnecessarily, fundies are exceptional, serious fixing.

Here I've seen the Mining CS at the LME, the ministry could be mulling a metals exchange? Africa is minerals wealthy! Btw, Zim has been holding its diamond auctions in Hre, moved from Antwerp.

Indeed, about time. A more political & economically democratic world. Stability, peace & progress.

The South-South movement would surely do with more influence, Greece could be another buddy & client. IMF snookered in these times indeed. Very interesting.

China plans to launch yuan gold fix by end of 2015

I'm sure you can see what the artist (BRICS) is painting?

Quote:
China plans to launch a yuan-denominated gold fix by the end of 2015 via the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE), in a move aimed at giving the world's biggest bullion producer and consumer more influence over pricing.

The first public confirmation made by an exchange official comes after Reuters cited sources in February on the proposal for the fix to be set through trading on the SGE, the world's biggest physical bullion exchange.
