For me charts have helped me be more patient especially on entry or loading of a stock. When speculating it has been useful when exiting. Lakini when going long it has helped me tame my fears when prices head south.

Thanks guys for your honest opinions. Let us see whether we can maintain focus and maintain situational awareness – staying ahead of the current price action – assessing where it’s likely to travel, how that will impact the decision making of other traders, and where that will create trading opportunities.
