All available results from 2010.... Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

At the time, Safaricom was not only making profits, it was GROWING profits. It was the industry leader. Everything was okay. The price was because of market emotions, not fundamentals. On the other hand, Kenya Airways is more broke than @Obiero. Actually, no single Kenyan is as broke as Kenya Airways!!! They are at negative equity and GROWING LOSSES!!! It is definitely criminal to compare the two!!! @maichblack are you aware that banks also have negative equity. KQ is sick but not dying.. Biashara huwa hivo. kupanda na kushuka. hata safaricom huweza kuja ikaangamia kwa uongozi wa Tombstone si sawa .they just have a better PR machine . 1m each to the editor of major dailies and everyone forgets that issue of some billions being used to buy up inflated land at Garden City. no one asks any hard question. they pick on hapless KQ that lacks will and wherewithal to bribe editors for favorable coverage Which listed bank is this with negative NAV???

NBK though it's not in a bad situation like KQ. Actually KQ can't be a benchmark coz it's at the bottom of the pit.

"Employees involved in the purchase of fuel, which makes up 40 per cent of the airlineโs direct costs, preferred the most expensive pricing formula available." linkEven my grandmother can tell me this is wrong what management did. Nguze knew this and he didn't do anything to change it. Yeye si mweupe kama pamba

MJ took over a 'dead' firm & grew into a giant which he handed to BC while TN took over a profitable firm and almost killed it before handing it over to MN. Safcom went public at 5/- and is now 17/-. KQ went public at 11.25 (then a Rights at 14) and is now 3.85 Mambo ndio hiyo. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett
