FTA is the way to or invest in Bein sports decoder. Ranksat can tell of the free premium staff found on Eutelsat 7A European beam. The soccer lovers can also think of Irib.
Back to Digital Migration, what's the Nairobi frequency for ADN?

smile smile 594MHz.

@Rankaz, I'm seriously considering investing kwa hii decoder yako inaleta premium stuff, DSTV are becoming too much, can you send me details @mcreggaer@gmail.com

Tuko wengi weka the details and where to get hapa!

Sio yangu as such, it's freely available in the market. Either Strong SRT-4922 (specs here or Strong SRT-4950 (specs here coupled to a satellite dish of appropriate size, depending on what you wanna watch. The equipment is freely available in those shops on Luthuli Avenue in Nairobi.

Some of the interesting satellites one may nab include:

Eutelsat 7A.

Amos 5.

Nilesat 201 & Eutelsat 7 West A.

SES-5.

and many others. I did try uploading some info on the same in the wazua google group way back though I was unable to include any attachments. Further discussions on the same have been going on here:

Hi luther12!

Rankaz. which of the satellites screen the EPL from the channels in the links am unable to tell

You'll get EPL & Champions League from a variety of satellites such as SES-5 (etv), E 7 A (MBC - Mauritius), Arabsat 5C (IRIB).

This Jolini thing is so plain nothing exciting all good channels are scrambled ££££.

All these channels plus 4 locals show. Which other channels do you want to watch for free?

@Rankaz MBC Mauritius, does it work - I always get a blank screen on my end for the 2 mbc's, it does not seem scrambled, but just can't seem to get it though the signal is good.

Come to think of it, it's blank too on my end. Not being a soccer fan myself, my use for that frequency is limited to tracking E7A and monitoring my progress in the same endeavor. Those who want soccer uninterrupted would be better served by the beIN sports package hich utilizes such decoders as Humax HD Free and Humax 1000S amongst others. Just two dstv subscription paymens are enough to pay for full year beIN subscription.

Jolini is 100% FTA. However, it registers ALL DVBT signals including the Pay-Channels. Registering them does NOT mean that you can view the content!

If you want to view Pay-TV content, get a Pay-TV decoder and pay the monthly subscriptions!

NMG is also spending more millions literary re-launching its TV channels. As David Ndii would ask: "I wonder which business school these managers went to"!

RULE 27 in marketing:

Do everything in your power to ensure that customers do not taste your competitors' product. Taste is subjective and even though you might have a superior product, you customers might just realise that they prefer the inferior offer from the competitor.

Hear from a mzee in Karatina after discovering Njata TV: "I didn't know that I've been living in information darkness all these years. I have been struggling to follow the news in Kiswahili on NTV KTN & CITIZEN. Now I just relax and listen to it in my own language"!

Shuffling through the local channels I must say we lack dearly on content. Am sure many Kenyans love local programming, the success of Royal Media is a testament to that. However music and drama is not everything, how about something different

1. I would enjoy watching our traditional creation stories being told in dramatization eg the house of Mumbi and Gikuyu and the 9 or is it 10 daughters. The Maasai descending from heaven with their cows.

2. The legend behind Kit-Mikayi and other legends

3. An expose/documentary about the pyramid schemes eg DECI and all the others.

4. The coming of the white/arab man into Kenya The story behind the formation of our towns etc The Egerton story

5. Celebrate the successes of our times eg the birth of Bidco, Equity, KCB bla bla

6. Highlight the issues that led to the downfall of parastatals that were eg KICOMI RIVERTEX

7. Our traditional beliefs and customs

Two things, they are very expensive to produce and they would work against the people who have the money to invest in such - they prefer it when wanjiku is only reading and hearing about our tribe being targeted.
