Its viable they want to ascertain the quantity, as in how many barrels are there.

Industry watchers are predicting Ngamia will be the biggest oil discovery of the year – and Tullow has only just begun work there.

Nabwire did you know this?

Quote:
And earlier this month Lion Petroleum, which has ground-floor entry position in two key blocks in Kenya, finally sealed a deal to secure a public listing on the TSX and got away a C$11.5 million fund-raising. The company had battled for over 18 months to raise funding for frontier exploration in Kenya; post-Ngamia and it quickly secured a merger with TSX Venture-quoted Taipan Resources and raised C$11.5 million, ensuring the explorer is fully funded through its first phase work commitments.
The company has now changed its name to Taipan Resources and is keen to capitalise on its early-mover position in Kenya.

With all the acreage currently licensed the only way Big Oil can enter this play is through deal-making with existing players; Taipan’s 100 per cent owned Block 2B could prove a tempting entry point.
