I think the share is still adjusting to the recent rally but the support level of 28.50/29.50 is clear indication that this is a stock to watch going forward.

two things..
1. market seems to be waiting for 9 months results for financial counters..to gauge price momentum..could explain why no much price moves since last week..

2.HFCK's Book closure for interim dividend of Kshs 0.35 is on friday october 29th

If an 80% growth doesn't move a share, what will? (Don't have any HFCK)

This' one counter i have failed to understand. I expected it to rally as the deadline (friday) approaches, but that's not the case.
Fortunately, i only own it in the fantasy market.

I prefer not looking at returns in fits and starts.narrow sighted.I have returned a net 60% profit on capital price appreciation alone without factoring dividend payout in the last 12 or so months. Come back here in 2011-12 and it will be a lot larger a return.

HF and EB are behaving the same way, the market not reacting to their results. People expected better results over 100% from HF and 70-80% from EB, especially after the M-KESHO hype

Ha ha ha. Someone said here on wazua that the two counters (HF and EB) are tied to the hip.
Applying that analogy, i assume that housing finance is waiting for equity so that they can go ahead together in the price increase.

more weight was given to uncertainty (results not yet released) than to certainty (actual dividend yield)..thus mean uncertainty affect probable price move more than book closure date.

@Pkoli i also expected better due to the fact that they connected 500k accounts in the period under review and yet the results are flat to H1...

I wonder if they'll manage to perform in FY2010

Actually, I think that 30 might turn out to be resistance. If it pulls back at least it will have shown you where it can get to. The last time HF rallied it got to about 27 and then there was a selloff.

It is realizing higher highs while not pulling back to previous lows. And volumes on the bid side are pretty good. Though, I am no expert at TA, I think that is reflective of a bullish trend.

I had predicted that 30 would be resistance for HF and even though it even traded at a high of 32, it soon retreated. It is however worth noting that it has not sunk to where it started the upwards climb (at least not yet).

I have been watching it the last few days and I think it may stabilise at current levels and then resume its bullish trend. I have actually been buying the last few days and am still seeking to add more. I had lightened up considerably earlier. I am now waiting to see whether I will be vindicated.

DISCLAIMER. I have a sizeable position on this counter so I have a positive bias for the counter.

This counter and eb are tied to the hip. Like someone said. As it is now. They are very close in price again.

come on! Hfck today at 27, eb at 26.25. Cant you see they are coming back together again? These two shares suprise me. A while back they were even fluctuating the same during the day. It will not always be like this, but it looks like its happening again.

@Aguytrying i remember putting it down somewhere that these companies trade on 100% the same fundamentals except PBV...

But this does not mean that ones performance has anything to do with the others and by the way HFCK fell back to equity's level only because it went bankrupt...

These companies have completely different business models So unless you can convince me that EB's performance is directly related to HFCK's and vice versa the analysis of price relationship between the two is a hard sell... Liar
