I'm suggesting this threads title is changed to pre referendum stocks. Every counter is up (well almost every counter) Those holding cash might be surprised to find their buses have left. Ama referendum ilipostponiwa na hatujui?

The market is factoring a peaceful YES win to the valuations.
Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

@deal en those who ar waiting for KCB @ 15.00 you'll be very disappointd. We ar headin towards 19.00 a very strong support for over three yrs according to my charts . 4 it to fall frm 19.00 to 15.00 there must b somethin very very wrong with the bank . Somethin like bankrapcy !!!!

@qw, Have you factored in what is likely to happen when the shares from the rights are posted increasing available shares besides those who might be willing to take their profits and run?

I was vilified when I told people that KCB will not trade below 17 bob. Everyone was screaming why KCB is not a good buy. Let them wait I will sell to them at 25 before end of the year!

I picked what I could pick when it was below 18, picked up my rights and applied for more rights!

I do not know whether a count of the green arrows versus the red arrows is related to the expected outcome of the referendum. Unfortunately non of us saw this coming this early.

KCB was in an oversold situation....its just a correction...just like centum and AK...wait for the results of the rights...

@the deal,

what are you expecting when the results of the rights come out? Price upsurge or decline?

Rumours indicate that they realized Kshs 12b. What is likely to happen to the price?

With 80% subscription and given that gava did not take their rights, is a success. There will be a slight dip of the price when the shares are uploaded and start trading, but this will be shortlived. The fund managers will finally mop the shares and we will see the price edge up beyond 20 bob.

It was too obvious how "smart" money would behave....seems the index could touch 5000pts by mid 2011 coz data shows when the market closes higher in july it usually ends being positive by end year.It is important to note that there has been a recession(30% or more correction)in the world markets every 4-6yrs since time immemorial...so expect one by 2012-2014
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

guru, your thoughts seem to be in line with other analysts. Earlier this year, they had talked of 5000 points by the end of the year. When do you see us going back to 6000 levels?
