@MaichBlack-you’re sure that series 5 can be acquired at 52k? If this is so, then I agree with you for Sasha to get this instead. Series 5 has some useful features like picture in picture and USB port for jpeg and mp3, (USB for series 3/4 only for upgrades) but still such features can be found on cheaper 29 inch kawaida sets

I'm not sure what price a 32" Series 5 goes for (If it exists that is - some higher series only come in 37" or 40" upwards), but I know a 37" 5 series they were selling at 74,500/= a couple of weeks ago is now going for around 69,000/= - A 5k difference. Using this as my basis, I'm sure Sasha can get a pretty good set at 52k - or she might be tempted to add something small for a bigger set. They have 32" on offer but I'm not sure of the prices coz I was not shopping for a TV - I was looking for a SD - HD converter (if one exists - LOL)
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@MaichBlack-indeed there is 32"series 5, model LN32A540
as for SD-HD converter,there is software and devices used for professional editing and broadcast purposes and hence unlikely to be found for home TV users

series 4 contrast ratio 10,000:1 with 3HDMI inputs
series 3 contrast ratio 8000:1 2HDMI inputs

the contrast ratio difference is almost nothing, 2 HDMI inputs are adequate, example could use one for DSTV HD decoder,the other for terrestrial HD in the future.So series 3 LCD is just fine

On another note Samsung seem not to have good local support in terms of spares going by experience of another wazuan,check this:

@anazazi-All japanese brand products we have here since early 90's are mainly assembled in malaysia,they are OK,unless from china!

@eddyz, most of the electronics sold in the U.S are from the China. Most of the big manufacturers have outsourced to Chinese companies coz of cost.Almost all electronics imported are from China!

My question is what is the basis for your bias for Chinese made television sets ? I would appreciate if you could expound on this.

I don't think its fair to paint with a broad brush unless you can back it up..

You create a perception that might be extremely flawed.
It's not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are.

Even without statistics i bet 80% of western electronic are proudly made in China.

I think where we went wrong in Africa(read the business guys) is to look for cheap chinese goods and ended up getting counterfeits and underhand made goods..... All the sports goods selling at very high premium in western countries are made in china check all your lables and even the mitumba designers you see.
