brand new - mixture of beef and matumbo, its called 'nyatumbo''. You must however boil the matumbo first - its obviously harder than nyama.

I also know how to make mango crisps, just in case you are interested.

For your omena recipe first boil the omena to get rid of the bitter taste and drain.

In a pan/sufuria saute onions till golden brown and add tomatoes and salt, to this add the drained omena.

To the above add light coconut milk [obtained by adding water to dessicated coconut from which thick milk has been extracted] and leave to simmer.

Once the coconut milk is reduced add thick coconut milk [obtained without adding water to dessicated coconut] to thicken the soup simmer a little longer and serve.

Try it with the brown ugali.

For your omena, after chambuaring to remove non-omena things, first boil the omena to get rid of the bitter taste and drain. Don't boil for too long as they may become too soft.

Heat some oil in a pan/sufuria and then fry the omena until they are slightly crisp (yaani kukausha). Place the omena on paper towels or serviettes to drain off oil.

In a pan/sufuria saute onions till golden brown and add tomatoes and salt (dhania, white pepper, other spices as you may wish), to this add the omena. You can just a little water if you do not want it dry. Let in simmer for some minutes. Serve with ugali and spinach/sukuma wiki.

oi butter,
I like trying out new things, so one day I decided to 'suprise'family by buying fresh omena at the supa. They know I can make soup out of stone,so no one doubted.
I strictly followed the instructions on the packet, but wait till the boiling began and everyone suddenly had an errand outside the house.
When froth began to form, that was it!I covered my nose, carried the sufuria with the boiling omena and poured it in a hole at the backyard and sprayed house.
I blamed the neighbour's cat for the missing omena to escape embarrasment.
my ready lemons,onions,tomatoes bcame salad.sioni a repeat.
