Besides, the pacemakers are not running the full 42km. They are 41 of them, that means each is supposed to pull for at least 1km at a minimum speed of 5.8m/s!

This is such an incredible feat. Congrats to this otherworldly talented human being and the pacemakers. I knew 1:59 was within his capabilities. Now we want 1:59 in a competitive marathon next year in Berlin. Bekele and him can push each other into this next year.....maybe. If those two go head to head in next yearβs Berlin marathon, the official IAAF record of 2:01 is getting smashed. Might not be 1:59 but it will be very very fast. Maybe high 2:00.
