Ah! are you suggesting circumcision was introduced to the mugikuyu by the arab? my God!

isnt it striking that bantus who migrated further south predominantly dont circumcise but bantus who remained in east africa like the gikuyu do? therein lies the hint.

Which non-circumcising Bantu people are these? The Coastals chop, The Western Bantu chop, The Bongo people chop, the South Africa Bantus chop too

While it is likely that the long held historian thought that Cushites introduced the cut, it is very likely that it was not introduced in current ethnic homeland but from the Congo area as the Cushites were also known to move West

PS. The Batusti of Rwanda/Burundi/DRC are believed to have come from Ethiopia! Read Mohammed Mamdani's works. Yet we believe they're Bantu! You will see some resemblance between some Rwandese and Ethiopians...

Good, now go further and show any instances of the arab to the mugikuyu.
Will appreciate, thanks!
Sorry had to edit, cultural contact that is!

whether it copied from the arabs/muslims, the nilotes like the maasai or the cushites like the somalis, the point is circumcision was not invented by bantus like the gikuyus. it was adopted. as much as this might get me beheaded if i publicly said this to my fellow bantus, bantu forefathers were uncircumcised i.e. the dreaded kihii. maybe future generations will be more open to an honest conversation.

From the little history I've read, circumcision was introduced to the Gikuyu by a tribe they found residing in Mt Kenya area called Aathi.

They were later absorbed by the Gikuyu in around 1600.

Gikuyu passes circumcision to Maasai who they were in close contact/conflict with those ages. I've never seen any text linking Gikuyus to arabs around these times...

some southern african bantus do but majority dont. that's why i posted the two maps. southern african countries (zambia, zimbabwe, mozambique, botswana, swaziland, lesotho, south africa etc) are mostly 90%+ bantu and majority of their populations are uncircumcised.

They do chop. You can confirm by reading Mandela's biography...just before you get a wife, at a river, in a group. One fellow doing it with much ceremony and onlookers

Much like the Bukusu are still doing today

bantus never used to 'cut'! usidanganywe na mtu... 'cutting' is of a middle eastern origin. some cushitic and nilotic tribes must have rubbed it in. the whole of south africa wanaishi tu! it must have been widely spread by islam and interactions with people who practice islam. it's a very small world

So who introduced it to the Southern Africa Bantus? Jan Van Rieebeck's people?
