Live your life to the fullest, but above all, love your country, and your fellow your countrymen. Leave it better than you found it for posterity. I guess that is far more fulfilling, seeing a glorious prosperous and happy nation on your sunset, rather than a dysfunctional, nearly collapsing edifice. Live happy, die happy, without any guilt. I can bet that he is receiving the best care that money can buy and has most probably been able to survive this far thanks to that. The average person would most probably be dead or swimming in debt and begging to afford the basic treatment to keep him/her alive. I do know for a fact that being rich and sick definitely beats being poor and sick.
