That's a hard one, @segemia. The lady left coz the man cannot maintain her lifestyle. Unless he goes back to those income days, his wife, who could have been accustomed to materialism, may not see the sense of going back. It's a tough one. @segemia you did not see this? Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...

So he was not even escorted by his wife and therefore he had called on me to help him carry his luggage. .... Did the man tell you what the conflict was all about, rather did he tell you why they were fighting?? Yes he told me what the conflict was all about. The man was sent packing from his well paying job about 24 months (August 2011) before the fallout. It is a long story, but the man was lucky to have had a relative in Eldoret who twelve months ago connected him to the current employer and that is how he landed in Eldoret. In Eldoret, the wife got a job with an oil company and was later transferred to Nairobi. The wife and the children moved into their house which they had previously built and the man was left in Eldoret. Sadly, the combined salaries for both the man and the wife were not anywhere near what the man was earning before and it had become relatively hard for the family to adjust to the new status and thus the family started developing financial stresses. The lady maintained that the children would have to continue with their school in one of the expensive institutions in Nairobi and other relatively expensive lifestyles, after all both of them were earning, but it was the man who was footing the bill with his salary. After a couple of months, the man had really felt the heat and decided to take some decisive action. Had the children transferred from the expensive school to cheaper ones. Cancelled all eating outs, scrapped the "new clothes per month" policy. Then after that he removed all the instantaneous water heaters (showers) in the house, removed and sold the deep freezer (after all they had a large refrigerator) and lastly in November 2013 he got rid of the microwave unit. According to the man, the family was able to safe a third of their total earnings, but this did not go well with the wife who felt that the man was out to sell everything that they had acquired. So on the material day, the man had suggested that they sell one of the cars since each had one as they did not need two cars at the time. An argument had ensued when the man told the wife that they would sell the car that she drove and instead she be driving his. According to the man, he did not need a car in Eldoret at the time. This triggered a full scale conflict. The day before he went to Eldoret, he had gone to purchase a few items in town and on his way back his car had developed a mechanical problem and was forced to drive it to his mechanics place. He went home using public means and the following day on 28th November 2013 he called on me to escort him. @segemia Did the man ever mentioned to you if he married the lady when he was still earning that high salary or they got married when they had nothing and acquired property over a time??? Did the man tell you more about the lady's background apart from being a zebra( )?? ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

Seems to me that that is what is playing here. The question however is, why would she leave yet her salary alone cannot maintain her and the children and yet they had already identified key areas where unnecessary expenditure was occurring??

The man told me that he married the lady when he was still renting a double room somewhere in Riruta and the lady had just tarmacked for an year with no job. At the time, the man told me that he was only earning kshs 4,680.00 way back in the year 2001. He had earlier told me that the lady was from a very humble background.
