3yrs ago I ordered the car am driving from SBT, I think it took about 4 weeks from the funds transfer to me picking the car in mbs. Surprised that their service has gone south since then.

Surprised that their service has gone south since then. seems so, at least from the posts on this thread - I also ordered a unit in 2012 that took around 6 weeks to when it was driven to my place, also got 3 units from them early 2013 which also took around 6 weeks for the whole process. I am hoping it was the end year rush that led to the complications, otherwise I really enjoyed their service back then.

From Papera. Car arrived on 30th with the jevic expiring on 31st dec... Luckily I survived that

Dear Wazuans.
There has been no post on this thread since 2nd Jan, should I assume that the service at SBT has improved since then?
I am about to send a considerable full payment for a unit, kindly do advise.
I would really hate to go through the frustration that some guys here have gone through.
My patience-ometer and nonsense-ometer have a very low threshold.

I think their service has improved so much. I paid for my invoice on 1st April 2014. On 2nd May I received a message that the car was in Mombasa.
All through Mr. Ali Raza kept calling me and updating me on the progress of the transaction. My pajero arrived in Kampala in superb condition.
I highly recommend SBT Japan. Or was I just I don't think so because they exhibited a high degree of professionalism and customer care.

Post Number 1 and unawapigia debe?? First unit (not 1st post) is more apt here! Let him/her import another unit and post the experience here. The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it's conformity.

any local agents wao? Iam uncomfortable dealing with the wahindi whocall me every minute. Last week in one day I got calls from three different wahindi. the only one I talked to was the airport "Money never sleeps"

Imported a car from them, arrived this month. Smooth with no hussles. Maybe they have improved.
A source at the port tells me the issue is if you want to buy one of the cars that they have already shipped to MSA. The Bill of Lading shows SBT as the importer, and as such, you will face many many issues with KRA, before the logbook is out in the purchasors name SBT don't do the duty payments/clearance themselves. They want the buyer to process the vehicle out of the port.

Thanks good people for your replies.
Just wired a payment hoping that their service has improved and the bad-name posts here were some isolated cases of a poor service period for the company.
Will let you know how the experience goes.

Regards. They have really improved though a bit sloppy in their organisation in terms of delivery and processing. As someone put it, keeping in touch with their customer service department helps in terms of updates. I just collected a unit this last weekend after four weeks without a hustle. Accept no one's definition of your life; define your life.
