Yeah, right!

Still nothing.

Still the afraid, scared, gutless, frightened, horrified, panicked man.

Yes. I can feel the fear. It's running all over my body.

Met some today at 8 pm as i was coming from shags with a four yr old andd an almost full car. They wanted to force me to take a victim to a hospital. It is a busy road and i did not see the sense of squezzing an unconsciuos patient next to a child and risk traumatising a kid for life were anything to happen on the way. What would you have done?

If you were the unfortunate victim, what would be your thoughts?

I would expect the person involved to be rational. Another victim as a result would not better my situation.

I know for sure you do not believe this..... Not when you feel there is a chance of your life being saved even if it is with a little inconvenience to another person. That is what being human is.... Rational only exists when you are not at a tight corner and especially when your life is not in the line.

Don't these helpers occasionally cause more harm to the injured? What if someone had a spinal injury and their actions paralyzed the victim instead? But then again, what can you do if there are no ambulances and no one qualified to assist?

It's a tough call. I attended a first aid course and they warned against rushing to the aid of accident victims in as much as you mean well. Pple have incurred worse injuries from Good Samaritans actions than the accident itself.

They advised to call for professional help. An ambulance, a radio station that will immediately broadcast the situation, Red Cross, etc.

However, not too long ago, a colleague's brother was saved by the actions of a quick acting stranger that stopped him from losing too much blood after he rushed him to hospital.

Tough call. TBH, I doubt I will readily accept to do that. I guess it's the fear factor.

I carry a mackintosh, gloves and medical supplies in my boot, just in case. I fear that i may now the victims of the accident scene, and if pass them, ill later hear they died, while I could have done something.

In some instances, i would not stop. I have said to myself countless times each time i see a careless driver that should anything happen itakuwa ni shauri yake. Someone overtaking at blind corner repeatedly etc. always forcing drivers to slow down as they fix themselves in between cars etc.
