I would want to go to heaven.. seeing as it is we spend a very short time on earth. 100 years is short. Getting to the age I am happened very very fast.. its only the other day I was playing with other kids.

So far, this life has taught me, 'You plant, You harvest'. I am a sum total of decisions I made a long time ago. I know that my choices now, will determine my life in old age.

Many use the Bible to help them 'get to heaven'.. It's ones prerogative, I guess. I use my Bible to guide me on my life on earth. Its proven and tested, has helped many people live a good life (whether or not they get to heaven) and I can see it working for me.

Matthew 24-27.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

Due to my profession, I can judge a good chicken egg from a bad chicken egg. In fact, I can throw away one before you eat it, just by looking at it.

But I'd rather not start judging who will go to heaven and who won't. I have a funny feeling that there shall be a few surprises for some of us when such a day comes.

Until God comes and tells me unequivocally and not in a dream or through a "human" pastor/clergy/prophet/etc I will stay out of judging other people based on what I perceive to be right or wrong.

Considering, that Christ is the hungry man, the sick, and naked, would you say the Bible has served you well?

In whose life do you expect to see the effect of your righteousness?

Maybe your time would be better spent on your knees seeking the answers to questions that gnaw at you...

The bible speaks of black as black and white as white, there are no grey areas.
I do not " perceive" that.
Its written clearly for me to read.
Peace in our Homeland.

Is this a version of, 'Mind your business'?

Paradoxically, I am on my knees now. And @Mukiri happens to be 'eavesdropping'.

kamundu...do you have the keys to hell or you are the watchie there who will say who will enter or not?

You know not when He is coming. Judge lest you be judged. He died for your sins etc etc are obviously very difficult for some "christians" to comprehend.

What is amazing is that "christians" are the most intollerant lot of humans on earth right now. Yet this religion was started with they being the most hounded humans on earth. It's a case of the hunted becoming the hunter.

I will only believe someone is in hell when I see them in hell. Not when some pastor who's ordained himself or been ordained by other pastors who ordained themselves. After all when they said, do not kill, did they also include the famous King David killing Goliath? Or is there a caveat in the 10 commandments?

what do you subscribe to ?

The Church has been guilty of obscurantism for too long. Copernicus & Galileo were branded heretics based on false interpretation of scripture.
However, all is not lost for the church. With time, the obdurate generation will die off and will be replaced with less bigoted descendants, more tolerant towards the likes of Archbishop Tutu. This natural attrition is already happening elsewhere. Today we have gay bishops, not to mention the gay lobby at the vatican.

You are more right in more ways than you can imagine.

Just for Mukiri.
