May be i missed the point somewhere- is Runda being hived off to create a road or to create some new land for the wretched of the earth? If the road was in the city design- whatever the year- that road belongs to all. That it is not developed does not make it non-existent or part of Runda to be used to fit to their aesthetic preferences.

I agree with Mukiha on the tendency to kill aspiration by making the affluent look bad... when i grow up kind of thing. Or even the right of people within the confines of their private property- gated community, mbwa kali,carry-a-pass,private road,trespassers-will-be- prosecuted kind of private property- to do as they wish within their property. Lakini on public property like a road, the pedestrian and cyclist and guys with 'walking cars' -about to be 'lapped' by the registration system- have as much right as the banyarunda and their sleek cars.

Seriously, general insult to the public's intelligence,i say public, coz these people in are private citizens, the construction of the by-pass will be a huge disturbance to the afflluent lifestyle these people enjoy, can you imagine sweaty, stinky road construction workers in that area, load heavy engineering equipment would probably scare their shs 200k worth chiwawas, the kids will be traumantized and will ned urget medical therapy in UK and they will probably need to buy LG(6 of them) air conditioners coz the smell of the workers and wet tarmac.

ruckus,no relations

Guys. I think this is now settled. Public good overides private concerns. Just like in the mlolongo case,Barabara ijengwe. If it had been biult in 1970,does it mean that the runda people would have had to uproot it and move it away from them as they would still have expended the way they have done?

send those bulldozers in and pull apart those houses....the law should be the law for all of us. u think they wud have thought twice if it was our houses in buru or tena on a by pass. i hope they build tht road, property prices in runda collapse, and then we can afford to buy plots there. let those people there renew their bupa policies coz they will need them. NO MORE IMPUNITY!!!!

forgive me if i am wrong but i thought that spending KES 8.5 billion on the bypasses would actually enhance the value of land and properties along the road corridor by almosta similar amount in value terms? so if this is correct due to ease of accessibility of Runda that the raod will bring, then the value of plots there should acyually go up from 15M per half acre to something lime 28 m. views pls.

@mukiha: Your sentiments are valid but I wish you just took some time to digest what people are saying here. The tone of the advert was very condescending. Granted, the inhabitants of Runda have the right to complain if they feel their neighbourhood is being denigrated! But they could have done it without belittling the rest of us who drive badly maintained jalopies.

I still haven't seen this boss of mine to deliver the punch, kick and pull his hair! Spitting in his mouth will annoy mukiha so I won't do that!
