And the book closure is 28th of June (4 months from now), and then they take another ___ months to pay the div. … Some needs to check the 182 day T Bill rate!!!

New Blog post:

At a trailing PE of 5.1 and a Dividend yield of 8.6%, I rate Housing Finance BUY. The morgage lender is well capitalized to take advantage of future opportunities. Kenya suffers from a chronic Housing shortage due to the recent population boom. I expect the demand curve to shift downwards towards the lower end of the property market as the current tightening deters the uptake of expensive houses.

Yup either S.Sudan & or UG. Much better than shipping FX to the mid-east.

Interesting thing to note is that Net NPLs was up +2.88% to 958Mn while Loan Loss Provision reduced from 238Mn in 2010 (a low interest regime) to 186Mn in 2011 (with interest rates as high as 25%). Granted HFCK is not a Bank parse thus explaining its interest rates not rising as high as the other commercial banks. It still doesn't make sense of a reduction of almost 52Mn in a year where interest rates are high.

I'm sure the regulatory bodies should be watching this carefully cz it doesn't make sense

Falling NPL's was the whole industry

I will buy more tomorrow. Look at todays volumes. The rally will be big here. Housing is a basic need. Every year there will be demand.
