I u/stand that section of Syoki has had issues since 2004.poleni sana sana.

True; the issue of Syokimau KAA land being grabbed and sold has been going on for many years. My stand is that if I bought some land and there was doubts about its validity later, I wouldn't build anything on it... I would use it to get a loan to buy another plot elsewhere and build.

Some times in life, you cut your losses and move on.

It's a sad matter though.

Banks will never touch such land; not even with a 7ft pole!

Very sad indeed..am not so sure about the dilligence carried out by the lawyers. Wasn't Ahmednassir in court the other day after his law firm okayed a dealworth $50,000 for sale of land in Mogadishu? he was hard pressed to explain what dilligence(if any) they'd carried out..

pole sana .I also lost at Balozi in south B after they claimed that the land was owned by Nssf .Something should be done to steamline the systems in kenya including moulding the govt officers to be geniune and GOD fearing .Corrruption is the cause of all this mess due to issuance of fake titles or two titles for a single property. My neighbour collapsed and died and this was due to corruption in Kenya.

Its sad especially when you see the victims are my age mates ,leaders of tommorow (as wazee regards us).

I believe >90% of the property was through bank loans, mortgage etc and you expect someone to honour the mortgage for the next 15 years without depression,Hypertension etc.

To me the victims should start with LSK,have all the lawyers involved arrested and blacklisted, then move to Ardhi house /survey of kenya included and cause trouble to all who issued the deed plans and titles. Mavoko council should not be spared either.

Otherwise,I support the KAA move because with the structures on the flight path, this poses a security threat to the planes especially this time of fighting the Al shabab.

Empty platitudes aside, provided an owner has the following documents:
An encumbered search form, valuation report, title deed, planning permission from Mavuko or Nairobi Council, they have a high chance of successfully suing the Government

Where is Orengo? Or he is part of the problem?

Orengo is surely part of this problem.

@Burning Spear, the laywers are not the problem, this thing was well orchestrated.

The plots had titles, Min of Lands okayed the deal, Mavoko gave a clean bill, the maps didn't show the plots belonged to KAA infact the plots are physically not inside KAA fence, Surveyors came and said all was OK. Banks that offered loans checked and confirmed the land was genuine before they financed the constructions.

Everyone who did due diligence gave the plots a clean bill until early this year when KAA showed up in the scene and these Mlolongo Brothers started making news as conmen that people realized something was a miss.

NB: No one in his / her right mind can invest 5, 10, 20M e.t.c putting up a house on a suspicious plot.

What have seen with the land process in kenya don't even trust the lawyers majority of them won't even bother to get the history of the land.

There is some land around Mlolong/Sabaki that belongs to the government Numerical Systems or something* where exactly is their land??

Its really sickening reading people comments on internet sites saying the syokimau people deserved what they got. No person, especially those who got the land after thorough search and built with legit hard earned money. Not all those guys were looking for shortcuts and all the reasons people are using to say they deserved it.

No one deserves the kind of treatment guys at syokimau got. It is really really sad and shows a serious lack of any goodwill from gov't.

why not arrest the gov't officials who gave out titles, deed plans, certificates or otherwise made the deals look legit? Why would any investor ever invest in Kenya again when it is clear that such shenanigans can be carried out by gov't officials?

I cannot say enough what a sad day that was. Young Kenyans swindled off their sweat by conniving lands and municipal officials.

I would probably be on the side of getting rid of every building that is on land reserves but in this case, Kenyans were assured the land was legit. So where is land in Kenya that is legit? Or do we wait for our parents to die before we inherit land?
