Its the tradition of the profession not to advertise - a tradition that at some point became part of the profession's ethics - similar to doctors' ethics - that the best should prove themselves through the services they provide and not by shouting from the highest hill. We simply inherited these ethics from our colonisers. We can of course change and such change is not far off. In the US and some other countries lawyers can advertise in all sorts of media.
