@TAZ - It depends who you chose to believe. Man United insisted they didn't pay a penny above 23.5m, then Everton said they didn't say Man United paid 27.5. All they said is the deal is worth 27.5m to them. Now they insist it is Man United that paid the whole 27.5m!

Both sides have reasons to lie. Man United [Our confused pair] wouldn't want to be seen to have paid 27.5m for a player who was available for 23.5m a month earlier. Everton would want people to know that they let their prized player leave to a desperate suitor on the deadline day [more like deadline minute] and were unable to extract more money than was stated in the expired release clause and instead chose to 'punish' their royal servant by taking his DESERVED loyalties from him.

Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I hate to say this but after all this confusion inaonekana Fellaini was a "panic buy" especially when you consider the fact that you paid more than his original buy-out clause......good player though.

Sasa how would Fellaini have been a panic buy and yet United have been putting up bids for him for the better part of the transfer period?

Hata mimi @TAZ amenishangaza hapo, FellainI has always been on the radar....itwas just a matter of time.

Why the inflated price?

If he was planned they should have bought him before expiry of the clause.

The original plan which backfired was to get both Fellani and Bainesa at about 40m which would have been cheap. But then again, it has happened and now we wait for his performance.

He is very good during corners at both ends and he had 12 goals last season, 11 in EPL. That would be a plus.

Though i find him too rough for my liking. Time will tell.

Fellaini gonna be the new Roy Keane that we've been looking for. Our mid was desperately in want of a player made of steel.
BTW, I wonder why top La Liga and Bundesliga clubs do not like selling players to ManUtd. Is it fear factor?

As already noted by a section of the media Perez is just trying to appease the Madrid fans who feel the club messed up by letting the German star leave.....stats show he was one of their best players (probably second to CR7) on the pitch. As a fan of the club all i'm concerned with is how Ozil conducts himself on the pitch. Besides Ozil is a devout Muslim who recites Holy Qur'an before every single match so i really doubt he's a "party animal" as claimed, i don't even think he takes alcohol. From what i've read the major issue they had with him was his frequent trips to Italy to visit his girlfriend...that should not really be a concern. I think CR7 is more of a football diva than Ozil....
