Anyone heard the remarks made by Kiraitu when they were commissioning the wind power generators at Ngong ? While Eddy was trying to explain the likely steps they were going to take to cushion consumers, Kiraitu was quick to say they will bring back the independent power producers. We all remember the high bills we had to pay last time these IPPs were around. The truth of the matter is Kiraitu is a big beneficiary of this arrangement. No politics here. I would have expected him to spell out the long term measures the goverment is taking to avoid IPP. This man has emerged as one of the richest guys around in the last 5yrs. For a Harvard alumni to enrich himself at the expense of kenyans', am very disappointed. Anglo,Triton, KPC scandal,IPP n now KK.

If I understand it, KK went to a Kenyan court but was told (by Justice Koome) that the Kenya Court has no jurisdiction on the matter & to follow the Contract & go for an English Arbitrator... Arbitration in kenya is government by English law. Most contracts, if they do not take up kenyan law(especially where other stakeholders are non-kenyans) they go by english law.

...and who said the Unga thread was longest? Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

KK is not in my portfolio so my arguments are not biased. Just as KPRL is having running stomach... KK is equally afraid. Please read the press statement appearing on Daily Nation page 16. D.Oyatsi (who sits on KK board) is not waxing lyrical and D.Ohana has adopted a pleading tone. Mind you, this is serious. However, i am concerned as everyone else because my car consumes gasoline and that's the only reason i post on this topic. History will not remember you for your IQ. As for KK, I am confident they know what the deal is... Of course, there is the slight possibility of them losing the battle BUT I think KK will win the war! BTW, another Triton scam in the works! Any posible closure of its kenyan operations?i wish bonny khalwale can cause a storm in parliament and bringup a bill striking out the requirement that its a must to process some crude at kprl, this is a very retrogressive law. I think in Kenya the fuel price increase is caused by the inefficiency of KPRL and KPC in terms of their operational capacity. The case of KK and KPRL leaves me wondering what was the purpose of liberalization if Govt interference is still day to day occurrence.
