@wendz, his kids are keen on having him declared insane to acquire rights to control his estate. This is a total mess and should serve as a lesson. His kids (from 1st and 2nd wife) were really stupid to bring an ambulance and the press. I would disinherit them, dignity and respect is clearly missing with them.

you see guys wanjiru the 3rd wife had already carried out enough research on kirima-children relationship and drew her own conclusions...if indeed she has been with kirima for more than 2 years, chances are that kirima has nothingPray and the children have nothingPray Pray Pray ..

the children could be right....the old man is out of order and completely fogotherly...

on another note...Why are wanjiru's so mischevious and notorious????

Heard they've been together for 43 years.... but then again, our reporters can report anything... but definitely its over 20 yrs... the woman is old - may be in her 60s

prisoner of his own riches, I think the 3rd wife had tied a rope to the old man's balls during the media interview and ensured she jerked it hard everytime the mzee was about to respond to a question to ensure he said all was well

There are some issues about this story that have not come out, the value of the property is more than what has been mentioned in the media, they actually collect rent worth ksh 75M a month.

Either because of uzee or being senile or whatever reason, alot of property has been transferee to wife number 3, which has angered the kids of the 1st wife. All they are claiming is to get what is owed to their mum (1st wife)and they have told her to keep the rest.

.......Rent of 75m per month???? Kirima should marry a 4th wife and go to Las Vegas for holiday..

I dont really think so. They had tried, had camped outside but there was not way the wife would allow them in.... they were doing what they could to make sure that they compel their step mom to open the doors.... Its not that they disrespected the old man. if you read the history of the family, it was pretty tight family despite being polygamous.... This third wife brought up the second wife's kids.... so why close them out this time? The dude is even being treated in hospital if he has not been discharged yet..... i mean, why would a hospital have admitted him if he was not sick?

@wendz, he has got prostate cancer + diabetes at 90yrs! A judge declared the guy sane after his daft kids claimed he was nuts! I dont trust the motives of these kids, its clear they have documents with his forged signature in waiting then you here the mzee is suddenly dead. Its possible his disease is in its terminal stages and he has chosen homecare(rather than die in a hospital) with the woman he has lived together with and trusted all this years. Please note the mzee has been living with wanjiru for the longest and never abadoned his kids whom the took care of with, wanjiru never mind where their mothers were all this time.@simonkabz, they suspect bad intentions from the greedy bastards.

this is one of those incidents where both sides can always come up with a sympathetic story of why they do what they do:

on one hand, like wendz has said, the kids have every right to be concerned about their father's health and need his company, poor or rich. but the particular circumstances make one wonder if it is all about money (if i recall corrently one of the kids is in court trying to wrestle control of the business from the father).

then on the other hand, wife no.(3?) has every right to the company of her husband (of several years) and to keep away those she genuinely feel are a danger to her (for all we know the kirima guy might have even had a falling out with the kids and personally does not want to see them - remember that court case again where i think his mental faculties were questioned). the problem is that this is a pretty rich guy so people will always question her motives.

have read through the posts here and most people seem to be of the opinion that the children have the right to their father's property. why is that?

the guy worked for the money and as long as he ensures his children are provided for (a million here and two there etc) he has the right to do with it whatever he wants - even if it is to buy a decade supply of viagra. the children have absolutely no right to their father's money - they should make theirs.
