@mukiha - I envy the position you find yourself in. That's my target too - to have my money work for me as hard as I work for it! I am on my way there but like the rest I have to compliment it with money from my pockets [in addition to re-investing earnings].
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

My friend, sex with the wife or girlfriend is more expensive than sex with a prostitute. The days of turn over tuendelee are gone. Siku hizi foreplay starts in an oriental restaurant... (oh and btw I'm 'happily' married)

A "sex buddy" is much cheaper leaving more money for the Stock Market.

@ the deal. Lol. U ar really privillaged to hav rich parents. But as for me i am a technical guy. I am the epitone of a DayTrader (i understand some buy and hold strategy) and i luv it. Bytheway you forgot that you live in a mansion, i live at the ticker tape !!!!!

where is this coming from? all we want is you to change your strategy....day trading doesnt work on the NSE...this is not NY...i might live in a mansion but that doesnt make me a good investor...investing is not about how much money u have but applying the right strategy....you can have a million but u can burn it all if u are reckless...

On my side, i only invest extraordinary profits from other things i pursue.. Not regular small amounts as most guru's here advise. Downside is i only inject funds once in a while, and am limited to good deals that occur when i have the money. Upside is i dont have to think about this all the time. It can be rather consuming - if you dont want to cheat your employer, ie. Strategy has paid off well, so far (there is usually a good deal on the market at any time!). Now, im into EQTY (stocked up over time - aver entry price 16kshs), MUM (aver entry at 10.5kshs. Missed earlier bus), and recently, KPLC (after dumping KQ, who's future prospects are more unclear as compared to KPLC, in my view). Im watching KCB, and NIC as possible next acquisitions with next tranche of funds.

@qw...

Where is a snapshot of your portfolio.
I couldn't help but comment as your buy pronouncements are not accompanied by exit points. As been highlighted previously our market inefficiencies cannot support day traders.
An investor following your picks would be led to the slaughterhouse unless they have exit points.

Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

My portifolio for now BAT 17%, BBK 16%, Cfc 13%, Sfcom 12%, Bamburi 12%, NMG 11%, NIC 10%, access and Tps 9%. My aim is to be diversified across the sectors and capitalisation. I re-balance by buying more or less of a counter.

Okay due to public demand, haahahha. here is my portfolio. ACCESS KENYA - i am looking at a + 10 Ksh or more come half year results.remember the 40% profit.I also hav some KQ. Yeah i also fell for the herd pressure at wazua and bought some.I will average down to Ksh 50.00.i hope the counter settles for a while to allow that.I am lookin at a + Ksh 10.00 as we run to 1H figures.I bought also some MUMIAS.i ,am waiting for the full year results around end of September to give me the price target for this stock. Its a growth stock so i'll have to keep it.I have some KenolKobil. i have come to lik the stock. With oil prices projected to hit over $100.00 per barrel next year the outlooks good.

You might see something is missing in my portfolio.i dnt have many banking stocks.I am looking at baggin the elusive Cfc Stanbic Bank.i'll wait for it at ksh 72.00 coz plainly this is a money maker. From what i have seen in the past week alone.

You'll also notice i dnt have junk stock.NOT even for speculative purposes.eheheh.

ADDITION : i have noted that some of you have over seven stocks in your portfolio.Thats plain wrong. You might say that you are diversifying widely but those who diversify widely dnt know what they are doing in the market and are the once who get burned when the market goes south. In the investement game its far much wiser to buy a few eggs and watch them closely than buy evry many eggs and loose track of them.
@wanyina.when do you have time to look over 19 counters.close to HALF of the nSE listed companies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Unless you have an investment analyst for each end every counter you are invested in this is bad.if you have that extra cash invest in the real estate and secure your wealth even through economic downturns.Okay ???

From wanyina's portfolio, I would say anajua what she is doing in the NSE. Plus in an economic downturn, real estate is not spared. Ask the Americans, bado wanalia.
wanyina, strive to be in the top 10 shareholders of all those company's, so that tukuone forbesApplause

looks like I'm the only one with holdings in Cables!! My greatest share is in Kenya-re(30%) followed by Mumias(29%), then Cables(20%)and Kenol Kobil (21%). I have a pending purchase of Kenol so this will change by the end of the day hopefully.
I have also a little holding in Sasini which I bought for my daughter. I have recorded it separatelty since I intend to put the proceeds in her account.

@Wanyina & the rest - It's NOT a good idea to post the actual number of shares you own in an open forum. Post the percentages [in value]. Get the total value of your holdings, divide the value of each holding by that total and multiply by 100 and post that. We have all sorts of characters online including the kamiti dude who was promising us a guaranteed profit of 80m from 20m capital - in 3 months [Click Here. I know you feel relatively anonymous but wazuarians do mbuzi and other stuff together and one day some criminal might actually match the user name to a face... Or even a 'friend' or colleague who knows your user name...

If I were you, I would edit the post immediately.

My two East African cents.

Woi!!! The boy child is an endangered species! I have never heard a single Wazuarian buying shares for his/her son! Boy child, kwisha!!!

@Wondergirl - Congrats. That's the way to go. Your daughter should be proud of you.

I kinda agree with you on that although I wouldn't say it's wrong if one knows what he/she is doing. But I know managing a portfolio like wanyina's would cause me undue headaches. By the way @wanyina how do you pick your stocks? On some I can see it was pure speculative but I can't tell...

BBI will solve it
