Ahhh... therein lies the rub... When do you buy farms/assets?
1) When you think the price is 'low' due to (short-term) depressed conditions like in 2008
2) When you think the future is bright. And you can buy at a fair/reasonable price.
I am not sure if either of the 2 exist at the moment. Large tea farms hardly change hands & with current crop levels + tea prices + weak KES = I don't see anyone selling their farms 'cheap'.
BTW, Brooke Bond/Unilever bought out minority shareholders 2 years ago at a 'cheap' price... Well, let's just say Unilever made the right decision!
