@Alfa

From my experience,i would go with Mater anytime! Your wifes' buddy might have met the wrong nurse or had too much expectations...was it her first kid? But,generally.Mater is the best. You can follow up with the post natal package and the fantastic 'well baby clinic'. As for their rates,am not sure how much it is this days....so just call them and ask or passby and pick their brochures+rate card.

Second option,Marie stopes. This is their major field(reproductive health),and they handle it very well. Their rates are very friendly and they have branches covering most parts of the country.

Despite not personally knowing anyone with experience from Nairobi Womens and Coptic hospital,I hear they are equally good. so it's worth a try too.

The whole birth process is mostly psychological,so involve your wife in the decision making,and as someone said here before,dont be fooled that the more expensive the better it is....even the cheap ones deliver healthy,bright babies too! Let her be prepared,physically and psychologically....and all will be well. All the bestsmile

I have had two cs deliveries at KNH private wing. I was happy with the services,enough qualified gynos,friendly nurses and above all excellent facilities. Most complications from private and govt hospitals are referred there. It costed about 70k all inclusive (doctors both gyn and paed,cs and bed) fair i think. Normal delivery will be about half the amount

Nice

ST Marys langata is the best and pocket friendly around 35k,very professional,No unnecessary CS,but you need to book at least one month in advance.

First,have ur wife go through the check ups and make sure everything is ok... (if possible AVOID the Ultra scan: the little one will have eye problems the first couple of months..if you can avoid it the better)

Secondly,get a good gyna,I got a good one who saved me 100k!!!!,then being at South B,I would suggest you pay a visit to Nairobi South Medical Centre.. South C shopping centre... Very clean,very professional... 30k Normal and 90k CS if need be..

Lastly,,keep close during the last days.. don't forget to be there when the kid is being BORN!!!!!

Well,my daughter was born in Jan,I actually moved from Mater to Nairobi South!!!!!.... PG can be complicated a times,and doctors wish to make a kill !!

My gal had a small complication,and Mater decided to do a CS.. ... I sort a second opinion from a gyna who moved us to NS,thro Xp he used some drugs that helped her hold on for couple of months.. and finally normal delivery.. and thats how the cost was reduced..

My little one has some eye prob,and the doc told me its the Ultra.. try not to do them oftenly....
