Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

using the laws of demand and supply. I think sugar is sweeter because it is in short supply. and this 'short supply' is courtesy of the COMESA safeguard & local companies inefficiencies.

If every Tom dick and harry is allowed to import sugar and the supply is high hence flooding the market. Where will the 'faceless' importers of illegal sugar make their billions?

the industry must be protecte, partly because there are farmers who depend on it and largely because people must 'eat'

Why protect inefficient sugar millers & farmers at the expense of other Kenyans?

It is not inefficiency per se.. it is the effects of being quasi capitalist, pseudo socialist.. and entirely corrupt.
'Other Kenyans' have shown the ability to buy half a litre of milk at even 100 shillings..

Were it not for Qideronomics expansion strategy..MSC would be posting 2B profits.
I however cannot speak for the other companies.

I see the stock is currently in short supply at the market (NSE).

Hi watu inaleta shida juu ya peni moja!!! Nilidhani peni moja haina maana tena!!!

Haya basi, nime adjust my order price to 3.10/=

My order went through at 3.10/=

Just ordered some more today!!!

I know most wazuans think I'm nuts but I'm not going with the crowd on this one!!!

My next order has just gone through at 3.10/=. Inaonekana hii peni moja ilikuwa inaleta shida.

Made one last order. He he he. Swimming in the Sugar!

Now I sit and wait!!!

Had bought a good chunk of KPLC at 14.00/= but the next order of 14.00/= couldn't be serviced. Upped it to 14.50/= the last couple of days but still couldn't get any. I have just upped it again to 15.00/=

From the gov view. Its better than dealing with unemployment/ civil unrest for millions in the concerned county

The other COMESA extensions used to be for 3-4 years since 2003. This one is just 12 months.....can Mumias Sugar restructure/grow cheap sugar to be able to compete with imports within one year? The Kenyan sugar is currently over 2 and half times more expensive than Malawian sugar!!

I think the government should let the market forces dictate the price of sugar because the market will force the Kenya Sugar Industry to be competitive or else rely on sugar imports. The Kenyan sugar belt can look for another cash crop which they can produce competitively eg Palm

Happy Hunting.
