We try both, and see what works. Anyways folks are used to paying per hour in malls, airport, hospitals etc. Why not the city centre as well?

If we want to deconjest the town by charging more parking fees then we must also avail means of people getting to town without their cars, how do we achieve this when we are now banning PSVs and Taxis from town????

Only matatus that dont ply Nairobi County are banned from CBD.

You sure about that?

I heard that on the radio this morn...it wouldn't be logical to stop all psvs.

So if you are coming from Nakuru you are dumped at Uthiru/Kangemi?

My understanding of CBD is the area that encompasses Uhuru highway, Univesity way, Moi Avenue and Haile Selassie Avenue.

So your Nakuru PSV can drop off passengers at Globe Cinema or Old Nation House along Tom Mboya Street.

Westlands has recently been designated a commercial business district/centre.

For. About time people started cycling to work. Sunlight, exercise and reduced pollution.

Welcome back. To me cycling is not just a hobby but also a mode of transport.

A developed country is not where the poor drive cars but where the rich use public transportation

Strongly FOR. I would hardly drive into the CBD even if they charged 10bob, except at night when traffic is friendly. The matatu sector people keep calling chaotic works very well for me whenever I got city errands. ...no hussle, no vandalism, dirt cheap, time saving.... If a majority of the CHOOSY middle class embrace it, then the sector will slowly evolve for the better, not forgetting measures by Kamau n Kidero. Otherwise don't just sit there n expect masafara to influence any change. They got bigger problems than a noisy sqeaky mathree.

Overwhelming support for 300 bob! Perhaps Kidero should have just bitten the bullet and gone to 500/=.
