If people dont learn from history, its gonna repeat itself relatively soon, instead of wasting time on Raila's aide the government should address the real issues affecting common man.
Revolutions by the way are never political, they are mainly economic-class struggles that are expressed politically. And peasants and middle class are a very dangerous lot to play politics with, when they are hungry.

I am looking forward to the coming 'time of trouble'.

History, among other things, was meant to be learnt from, AND to tell us what the future will be.

This goverment is pushing people to revolt. And their patience can not be stretched very far. They will not need Omitata or Owala. Great that the debate is has not taken party politics. We are healing very little on the fighting corruption and alot of empty promises. On the 1.5 % on railway development what do they want to do? Buy new trains or rehabilitate the railway.? Thought the railway was sold to some private investors? Any plans for the lofty ideas of commuter metro in nairobi?

There are more questions than answers

Please take note;
1. 1.5% on all imports. Calling it railway development levy
2. VAT on essential goods that were zero rated before.
3. Just received a mail from my bank that there is going to be 10% excise duty.

Choices indeed have consequences.

Add to that the proposed up to 18,000/= PER MONTH to the NSSF thugs!

This UhuRuto government will finish us!

I don't know why some people are supporting some of the government proposals blindly! I keep saying, they should have sealed the loopholes first, eliminated wastage and provided services with the available resources before asking us for more! We are currently being asked to fund wastage and corruption!!!

am saddened by this coz they surely will finish KENYANS.

where to run to? Invest? save?
we doomed!!!!!!!

The poor who are the majority of kenyans know how to survive and no increase in taxes or increase in elec will change their lives, only the noisy lower middle class will be affected.

My advice to you guys is to stall on paying the 70k. I'm reliably informed by an insider that the rate might be lowered to even less than the original 35k if some of the things they are working on materialize. It might actually go to 20s. They are in advanced talks with some institutions including World Bank on the issue of subsidies especially concerning rural electrification. Watch this space.

Why do some people hate the middle class so much? Some people spew alot of venom directed towards the so called middle class and yet they are themselves middle class or working their a$$es off to become middle class. Very few Kenyans have made it past "Upper middle class" - maybe 5%. Majority of Kenyans are either middle class or hoping they will one day make the cut. So why the hatred??? Someone school me.
