I am actually wondering what Naikuni is still doing at KQ.

Ditto. ... Naikuni should read this cc/KQ.Shareholders

Naikuni is a Kenyan. They never resign.

Look JS retirement was planned and very well executed. In any case David has been running the place for sometime. Assuming he had been fired, would he be retained at the board as an advisor. I think people want retirements kenyan style like that of Eddie at Kengen where you retire and then they go look for a replacement ama the KCB and UAP ones where you bring in a Deputy Group Chief to mark time for the CEO to leave after 2 years. This to me is the best succession on the NSE well executed and devoid of gaps. To prove that JS had already mended the company wait for the results late July or early Aug...

I remember release of HY 2011 results which were very rosy was quickly done in July 2011 but release of HY 2012 results which were a nightmare was delayed to September 2012 ... So, if HY 2013 results are being released in July 2013, i would take this as a good sign for what will be released.

... So, @Kausha, what is your source that results HY 2013 will be released in this month of July 2013. Better, you may also give us the precise date

@Kausha ask all the shareholders who attended the AGM if they think this was well executed!

The guy was chewing sour grapes after losing the chairmans position and by default absolute control..

Ohana is a mini Segman. For a number of years he has been incharge of Kenyan operations and was the background guy. KK is bound for greater heights.

Nothing has changed! Its like Muthaura handing over to Kimemia and expecting a paradigm shift.

8.60 & falling... 200,000 of offer at 8.60... I have my 'pot' ready but I will wait till it is 8-ish. I am wearing all-black. In mourning.

P.S. I wonder how Segman, who has options, will cash out. Could it be he exercised his options & is now selling the shares?

Lets be fair and thankful to JS. Look where he got Kenol at and where he is leaving it today. He may have made a mistake last year and believe me he was not alone the entire board participated in the hedging. They admitted their mistake and have fixed the mistakes and early August you will see they have. I can only have great gratitude to the man and hope he moves on to become Chairman of the Group.

I say this because you still have CEO's on the NSE who blame the weather, Europe, politics, airports for the weaknesses in their company performance and they hardly ever provide a road map to resolving the problems!

That's a thought. JIS could have moved from CEO to Chairman leaving day-to-day running of the firm to Ohana.

Question: I wonder how large JIS retirement package is & how it will affect the results. 1H 2013 will remain break-even at best coz the financing costs remain high & there may be some restructuring costs involved.
