I Love TED talks!

My favorite is the Danger of a single story by Chimamanda Adichie, and also another one i watched of Michelle Obama. I think TED talks is simply brilliant!

hehehe.. Thanks to Wazua and Wazuans. Intelligence is a beautiful thing. And these short doses of intelligence are informative, inspiring, even poetic. There is a torrent with almost 6GB of TED talks.

@mkeiyd - Get orbit downloader from the web.Its free.Once you install it open grab++ from orbit.then go to the ted website and choose the videos you want and when they open there should be a download option.Grab++ will list the videos and you can download them that way.Works with youtube videos too but ted videos don't time out like youtube videos. That way you can download as many videos as you want and get to watch them faster than with a torrent. But you can also google TED talks torrent you will atleast get a few torrents.Good luck.

@Mkeiyd.. I did the same as advised.

@Chessmaster.. The Essence of Knowledge is, having it, to use it ~ Confucius. I'm curious, Other than entertainment and marveling at the intelligence of man, how has Ted talks affected your life?

At first I started watching for inspiration/motivation and confirmation that my thoughts weren't that crazy. Then I continued watching because of their unique perspectives and insights. Apart from insights now I watch to see how past talks predicted future outcomes so I can learn what factors to be considering and following.I also watch to hear what people are saying about the future and closely follow the factors to create and continue to utilize opportunities that other people neglect.

For me Ted is not entertainment. It was a life line for me at one point.Like one of my previous Ted posts, information is food, and Ted is one of my sources. Its affected many aspects of my life- how I think, envision the future,my confidence,my investments, career choice, life purpose.

If you get time watch Mathemagician. Amazing genius

This "Mathemagician" guy is out-of-this-world. His mind = wow!

I discovered him in youtube, did not know that he did a ted. Will look for it.

Someone please tell me that I did not hear plenty of recycled lines in these two separate talks.

1. Mathemagician on DistinctiveVoicesBC
2. Mathemagician on TED

Assure me that it's either :
- standard practise aka rehearsed lines.
or
- a case of plagiarising one's own work d'oh!

Otherwise, my confidence in human nature just got a severe shakedown.

This is general, any chance of being specific? eg Now I eat ABC because I watched this talk, I'll build my house XYZ because bla bla bla

This is my favourite too. There was one where Lorna Irungu was to feature. Did it go through? I saw the preview.
