I think so too but what does she stand to gain? Too many loopholes in this story.

Ms Otieno told reporters that she had been out drinking with Mr Kemboi when he offered her a lift home.
The 2004 Olympic gold 3,000m steeplechase winner told police that the attackers pounced on him when he wasoutside the car, demanded money and then attacked him.
He said he acted in self-defence to dodge them and his companion was stabbed.
