What I saw was just emotions and 'never ever set foot in this business again' from the lady in green. This never seems to happen with the Ndegwa's. Well organised folks who seem to never like having their kids running their businesses. They prefer serious professionals, hired by external consultants Etc. Soon there may be nothing for these Tuskys kids to fight over Great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand judgement...

There are new nimble supermarkets with better customer care coming up. e.g Quickmart in Ruaka has more customers than Tuskys Ruaka across the road.

Last year there was a fist fight between old CEO and one of the brats in full view of the employees, now this. The board should have stood by the CEO to break the cycle and show the kids that such shenanigans won't be allowed any more.

It's like the parents who are the senior board sent the children who are the junior board to give the CEO marching orders. Instead of the 3rd generation using the wealth to go the "Harvards", intern at "Wallmarts" and return and perfect on what the first generation built, they are busy shouting Haki Yetu. Kwanza that lady in green in the video ni disaster. This is one business taht cannot last for long. I am pretty sure the branch managers are by now plundering the branches and stockings their Kiosks Very true. Very few family enterprises can survive this. The wealth is being seriously diluted with each subsequent generation yet, to maintain their accustomed lifestyles, they end up spending more than the generated returns from the business. So the infighting we're now seeing becomes more and more the focus of the family members as each one of them wants to continue enjoying the wealth, while no new wealth is being generated. It's inevitable. Sent from my Black Nokia 3310

Soon there may be nothing for these Tuskys kids to fight over Surely, what is the secret of the Ndegwa family? They are so discreet in their affairs and have stayed out of public eye despite being among the richest families in Kenya. Nope. Its control. Sure, a good education is important but we have seen good businesses run down by very well educated fellows. Control. Either you have a steel-willed, ironfisted taskmaster who keeps everyone in line -OR you have unimpeachable processes, checks and balances in place. One such is a rule that disagreements can only be abritated in private, not public and certainly not infront of the press. Make it inviolable, signed and enforcable in law, like an. NDA, anyone breaking it forfeits a percentage of profit or control or voting rights for a time. Hit the pocket hard, this wouldn't happen. Its just a matter of discipline. Thats my opinion.

Daddy created, mummy protects and nourishes for further growth If you are a parent you will know which of your kids can run your business or run down your empire. That's the reason why some parents decide to donate all the world to charity. Bill Gates decided to donate almost all his charity to philanthropy. Warren Buffet doesnt want to leave all of his property to his sons instead a good chunk to Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation. That's why some people choose to leave their wealth to dogs! Sounds mean but it tells you how some parents don't trust their wealth to their own kids linkKenyatta mzee was smart. If he left liquidity then there would be problem like the karumes, former kplc boss, .... kanyotu,.... But he left a seed (land) for his kids to do planting themselves (brookside and the rest) and experience the journey of growth as seed germinates.that's why you will never hear the Kenyatta's in court over land dispute. Mzee left strict land laws that he signed himself and no one should challenge in courts.

Maybe its a good thing that this family is fighting, they might break up and form other successful companies just like Naivas and Tuskys are the products of the disagreement between the brothers who owned the original Magic Supermarkets.
