I tore down Uchumi into pieces find out why Uchumi is most likely to open higher than Ksh 14.50

It might open high because of excitement but it will not close the week above 8/- My reasons:

- Increase of number of shares from 180m to over 250m
- Offloading by annoyed investors who's monies have been locked up in this prison till now.
- Low confidence from new investors making it a speculative counter.

Btw, who are the new/current Directors?

I'm willing to bet..we shall not see Uchumi at 8 bob.

Interesting.........

"In view of the forecasts, Uchumi shares, which last traded at 14.50 shillings, should be worth at least 25 shillings, Michael Gichohi, chief executive officer of Nairobi-based Suntra Investment Bank Ltd., said in an interview today."

Aaaaah, i wont sell ...

Thats after listening to you all. Since i had already written off Uchumi, i dont see why i should accept 5 bob from anyone ... aaah! When you have written off something you can wait ... and i hope most of the 18000 shareholders think that way. Anyhow, i will look at it all as it unfolds and then decide what to do after 6-months and final year results ...
Don't gamble; take all your savings and buy some good stock and hold it till it goes up, then sell it. If it don't go up, don't buy it...

Makes a lot of sense. If you bought this thing for 14.50 in 2006 then waited for 5 years, why would any shareholder want to sell at 5 bob?

What reason would that be other that temporary insanity.

Unless you are very desperate for cash... if you have waited 5 years, wait a few more months!

But as a potential buyer I have to shout SELL, SELL, SELL...

I will be buying from anyone silly enough to sell under 10 bob.. Im not yet sure why people here are expecting it to trade at such low prices - people were buying it at 14.5 when the company was moribund. And that was with a stronger shilling! PLus, the profile of persons holding the newly issued shares isnt that of panic sellers.
But Tuesday is under a week away. Lets see how it goes.

BTW, one of the conditions for re-listing was getting an 'independent' chair. Haven't heard of one.
