This discussion seems to have mutated from car restoration......
anyway,moving on....
@s'guru - yes the figures quoted include insurance - CIF

@mkimwa - I'm assuming you mean Golf Mk5 (or do you mean Mk4 V5- 2.3litre petrol?)
Mk5 .... (2004 onwards) what size engine?
1.4/1.6/2.0/2.5 petrols
1.9/2.0 TDi diesels ?

assuming a 2004 1.6 S FSI 5dr
60000kms = 37000 mls (CIF - ksh 1m)
80000kms = 50000mls (average for that age of car) CIF (ksh950k)
112000kms=70000mls (BTW still good condition in UK) CIF mombasa (ksh700k)

Question: Why are buyers afraid of higher mileage?
This is the reason that many cars brought in (esp from Japan) have the mileage clocked down to reflect lower mileage?
What evidence is there that the mileage is warranted? Service History... is it available?

Duty as indicated earlier ... keeps changing. Contact KRA and give details ..vehicle Make model YOM (down to the month).

I sent a Golf MK4 2002 model 1.6sr and (if I'm not wrong) duty was 300k
also currently in transit is a Nissan Navara Aventura Double Cab 2005 model (2.5diesel) estimated duty is 600k.
