am curious: all the various persons chosen as mediators in this conflict are presidents, except RAO who is a PM. How come? I dont recall Kibs delegating that role. So why did Ping do so?

So why did Ping do so? Gabgbo delegated his PM to meet his Kenyan equal number. Very telling. Quatarra also has a PM! Couldn get thicker for Raila! Isuni yilu yi maa me muyo - ni Mbisuu

No, i donth think. African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'

Was reading an article in the papers. I think the International Community has gotten it all wrong. Ivory Coastians will not let their president step down and let the country be taken over by a migrant population (Burkanabes from Burkina Faso) hence the calm you see. Imagine people who have been migrating from the region taking over our country. It is a dead end. Quattra election is also questionable. Those are the fact.

Latest reports from IC inform that "African offer to Gbagbo fails to end Ivory Coast crisis" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12110119
As predicted, this was a mammoth task for our inexperienced-cum mdomo baggy PM. The ECOWAS delegation of three Presidents and the chest-thumping AU's marksman have left Abijan crest-fallen. I wonder how he will sugar-coat this distastrous performance. Alipatiwa kitanzi na akiching'onga. He will return home to find the Orange House in disarray after the unceremonial departure of his Chair. What a double-tragedy? What a terrible way to begin the year? What a miscalculation? What a knock-out?

@Fundamentali....i think you might have a point there, the country is relatively calm compared to the situation we had in Kenya. As for Raila's role, i don't think its any different from the Former Ghanian Pres. John Kuffour who was appointed by the AU during the PEV in Kenya....as regards to what he achieved, well.......

Kenya's situation wasn't caused by elections. It was caused primarily by anti-Kikuyuism.The elections were just an excuse, not the reason. If our problem wasn't ethnic hatred, why isn't there chaos in the scale of Kenya in Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe? What a wicked man I am!The things I want to do,I don't do.The things I don't want to do I find myself doing

But if you observe, Quattro's call for a strike and mass action fell on deaf ears. I think his popularity is overrated. Ivory Coastians are in charge of the government and the army. Nothing can happen there.

He cant even offer Gbagbo assylum, hes not in control of the security apparatus in Kenya.

He's still in a coalition government which has failed to live up to its expectations, both parties have disappointed Kenyans. I was suprised to hear akina Midiwo giving their opinion (as ODM members) on the Ivory Coast situation.

I can bet the Railamaniacs would be on the other side too with all manner of justification and logic.I can count 3 of them here. They are the same on every RAO thread.Kwani you think RAO can't be wrong? The guy is not,and cannot be infallible But on a serious note, if you allow people from another country to gain citizenship of your country and become so many that they gain sizeable political numbers, you shouldn't complain when they take over! The Burkinabes were citizens of another country, but now they are Ivorians!Or how did they end up voting? Is the same thing happening to Kenya with all those Somalia nationals gaining citizenship? What a wicked man I am!The things I want to do,I don't do.The things I don't want to do I find myself doing
