The factory itself is in a poor state of repairs and maintenance. Workers je, or the sugarcane will mill itself....

Apart from the Process house and 1 key boiler, the rest of the factory is not in bad condition. Still this requires quite some capital to put to work. Also, the good technical staff left and it is not easy replacing them. Wabuke is not new to Mumias having been an Agricultural manager there way back in the 90s. He is a good , well knowledged fellow but as I have indicated above, without capital and the right technical staff, KCB can bring Jesus and still fail.

Where is oparanya with his know it all recovery ideas and chini ya maji task force now?? Either the government task force was to work as one team, or the debtors would get jittery.

Sacked Mumias staff get Sh20,000 termination pay

Quote:
He added that the law provides for the employees to be paid last because they were not secured creditors when a firm has been placed under administration or is being liquidated.

The Sh20, 000 pay came as a shocker to the Mumias Sugar employees who are owed Sh2.4 billion in salary arrears and pension dues.

They are making this look like a good thing for mumias employees, but it's not.

kcb should not spend more money here.It might prove hard to recoup it later.
Since they have placed mumias under receivership, let them ask the court to be allowed to sell some assets and recoup their ksh 545 million. Then Watoke hapo.
Otherwise they may end up spending more than mumias assets which is kshs 15 billion.

Mumias is bankrupt. They have not been working for 1-2 years. Many other Kenyans are suffering while Mumias got bailouts.
