mmmh.

In need of a FY'12 vs Q1'13 analysis. Over to @mwekezaji & Co.

That quarter one 2013 vs quarter four 2012 i can't wait to have a look at...loan book growth and NPLs.

Comparing that article to this one reveals Q1 was very dull. Well, Mr. Mkt will decide on the valuations - Housing Finance posts Kshs 907 million full year profit http://www.housing.co.ke...illion-full-year-profit

KES 215m was the prediction and the exchange bar has not fallen short. though the drinks caused us to overlook the percentages.. a good performance by the diamond

Quarter one highlights:
Profit before tax increased 47 percent to Kshs 279 million up from Kshs 190 million.
Profit after tax up 46 percent to Kshs 195 million from Kshs 133 million.
Net loans and advances to customers increased 20 percent to Kshs 31.6 billion up from Kshs 26.4 billion.
Net interest income up 46 percent to Kshs 665.1 million, up from Kshs 456.3 million.
Customer deposits up 31 percent to Kshs 24.5 billion from Kshs 18.7 billion.
Gross NPL increased to Kshs 2.6 billion from Kshs 1.4 billion.
Earnings per share up 46 percent to Kshs 3.39 up from Kshs 2.32.

On loans and advances, the insiders were spot on! I have had to call one of the drinkmates for good work done. @mwekezaji. please analyse this thing ASAP..

HF 90,000 ABP 3.83; KQ 414,100 ABP 7.92; MTN 23,800 ABP 6.45

Wow @obiero had it.

KES 215mn he said pre-tax but he might have misheard coz the PAT (Comprehensive Income is 216mn)
KES 31.5bn he said Loans & it came to KES 31.5mn

Exchange Bar is definitely the Exchange Bar!

Isnt that insider trading? One of the main reasons foreign money is reluctant to trade in Africa.

What ze wonderful performance! This is only the beginning, we will most definitely cross the 1bn pbt mark this year.
With the stable environment and addition of the building society I expect growth next year over this year.
The fact that they will seek funds in fourth quarter maybe a rights issue gets me thinking how to strategies for more share, though by then the share may be in the 30"s with rights not far from current price .

It might be another Corporate Bond not a Rights Issue. Equity Bank & Britam have a huge say in whether HFCK should go for a Rights Issue.

I hope its not a rights issue. But now that they have just recently done a bond a rights might not be far fetched.

Not with the current bearishness in the market. I am a long term buyer (although I will lighten if it pops up) and I will be looking to buy at the pre-result levels 24 and below, once the buzz regarding the results is over!
