Quote:At least 35 people have lost their lives through road crashes in the last couple of days, principally due to careless driving. One of the most shocking cases was the demise of seven university students in Kisii, among them two sisters, as they travelled upcountry for a party.
So far, the country has lost about 1,600 people on the road this year and unless checked, the statistics may be grim at the end of the year. Annual death toll on roads is estimated at 3,000 and when injuries are added to the equation, then the gravity of the situation becomes painfully clear.
Stay safe this weekend, don't drink and drive!
