This taxation law is poorly worded. You obviously know very well KK will point to the lack of capital gains taxes transactions involving listed company shares, seek clarity on which law supercedes the other and cite BBK as a precedent. I think the ambiguity is deliberate to extort some bribes from KK but otherwise the legislation was targeted at exploration companies to avoid the Tullow - Heritage scenario in Uganda.

I blame the Commercial Court Division for dragging their feet in determining disputes. That is tantamount to stifling investment in the country.
