@Thiong'o, do you expect conclusive investigation by this committee!!? especially that the power wielders are adversely "mentioned"...akina Moha know who the pro-PNU ministers, assistant ministers et al are...and also in light of Wambui's daughter hanging out with the 2 brothers.... I wait to see that report, now that it wasn't mentioned who is in the committee and a timeframe for the final report.... and I still think akina Moha have more evidence...just waiting for government objection to these allegations...

Police spokesman already alikataa. NOTHING will happen. Si mara ya kwanza and definitely si ya mwisho...

Whatever the truth in this series, I am disappointed that Moha & co did not tell us all sides of the story. For one how could they have missed the Police Inquest that investigated Chemorei's killing? They should down lay all "facts" then we are left to judge for ourselves. At least they should have gotten hold of the rulings in the inquest and told us about the inquest's conclusions.

"The program creates an impression that the death of late Erastus Chemorei was covered up and was never properly investigated. The truth is that this death was exhaustively investigated by police and later by the Principal Magistrate’s Court in Eldoret through a public inquest. During the public inquest, the family was represented by an advocate of the high court in Kenya. A total of 39 witnesses were grilled by the court and the family lawyer, among them about 20 police officers. Due to our sensitivity to traditions in respect of deceased people and consideration for the feelings of the family of the late, we are constrained from discussing a lot of details surrounding this matter.

However we wish to inform the public that public inquest proceedings are public documents and accessible to all. We also take this opportunity to invite any person wishing to examine the Police Case File in respect of this case to come and do so in order to decide for themselves on the veracity of evidence adduced and the rulings thereon. It is our opinion that the matter was professionally investigated and the court findings were judiciously reached. The firearms recovered were examined and found to have been used in other robbery incidents in Kitale area and none of them were found to have been owned by any government agency. We also observe that the family was represented by a competent advocate of the high court, who enjoys a reputation for professional independence. It is not plausible that he could have failed to file an appeal if he had found grounds to do so. The same applies to all the other cases mentioned in this propaganda"

If KTN is found to have tinkered with our emotions - with an intention to control public psyche - they should be made to pay a very heavy price!

I dont condone drug running along with the unholy influence its Barons seem to wield.

That is however no licence for anybody to seek to fiddle around, clearly appealing to emotions as the KTN episode was calculated to.

You are easy to pacify, I am not good to go with 39 witnesses and 20 police.

The two highlighted statements are not in agreement and so it is ok to believe the makers are lying. If they are public then nothing prevents them from discussing all the details surrounding the matter.

Unless, of course, they already know that maintaining a lie is too much a task, they would rather not let their tounges slip.

However transparent a court may be if the investigation by the same police, no less, is shoddy, negligent, and geared to project a certain predetermined situation, there is nothing useful the court will find. That is what happened here.

But the point remains that journalists have a responsibility to present to us all the "facts" they gather - this does not make those "facts" true. But at the very least we will have all the available information on the basis on which we can then make our own informed judgment.

The other thing that struck me in the statement is that Iteere was not the GSU deputy commandant then. Could it be that KTN gave us a true story but added some spice?
