Mc Kinsey and Seabury are on it.. Plus Ngunze isnt a daft chap. Check his CV

Listen to naikuni at min 3.53

He clearly says that KQ is making money for Boeing. Since Boeing delayed KQs plane, they should have revised their strategy. 2 I read the remarks by Mbuvi when the pricing strategy was reviewed....to me that was not satisfactory... but anyway going forward I wait for his plan with treasury.

At the exchange bar yesterday, it was discussed that once off asset disposal proceeds are part of the reason for volume spikes on KQ in the past two months. These are as follows:
Embakasi land KES 4.5B
4 * 777-200 KES 6B
1* 767 KES 1B
In addition to KES 4.2B by GoK, KES 5.5B by KLM-IFC, and KES 2.1B by Afriexim Bank; a total of upto 23.3B has been secured. This coupled with tourism revival, Ebola remission, enhanced fuel efficiency of the 787 and robust route optimisation as effected by the new CEO in 2015, shall ensure a H1 profit. Thank me later

@maka taking into account the fraternity's cognizance of the right to access legal redress, and desire to bill for it, I'm of the opinion that the transition KQ is undergoing is less severe as say the media. i.e it is change of equipment & not much technology.

Thus, the Union should be proactive in having their members adjust to the slight turbulence instead. Plus, Aviation is such a large industry, I'm sure with a lot more greener pastures. Seems KQ is a great employer after all. smile

ION, GE are taking steps to remain reliable business partners.

Quote:

Authorization for the U.S. Export-Import Bank was not approved by Congress, forcing it to stop lending July. Foreign companies use the agency to buy expensive U.S. products when bank loans are not available.

GE said it's bidding on projects valued at $11 billion that require export financing. It said it has reached agreement with the French export-credit agency to provide a line of credit for global power projects. GE said the line of credit will initially support potential orders in international markets that include Indonesia.

To access the required export credit for customers of its aeroderivative turbines, GE will move its final assembly from the U.S. to Hungary and China.

Then here again we have a misguided comparison of a full service airline KQ, with the low cost Fly 540. Ajab... Fly Jambojet. Also, comparing business class rates with economy class rates - double ajab. The Hub-Direct value proposition will continue to sell fortunately.

Unbelievable short-sightedness on the pilots part. Isn't it easier to certify on another type rather than block critical financing meant to keep the airline afloat? If KQ tanks they will fly broomsticks and eat air ....one of these days someone will get annoyed enough and throw out all these agreements KALPA has with management and then it will be no unions like the rest of the private sector, no cushions, no seniority and pilots can be imported .....(vastly experienced but jobless pilots from Europe complain at KQ being closed to non-Kenyans) ..
then these KALPA guys will know misery ...
It would be sad for Kenyans to lose jobs but these guys have a responsibility to look after their employer too (and not always take the hardline stance).
