Each with it's territory and climate. How do you dictate to the bushmen a diet that is uniform and similar to that of the pygmies in the congo? how do you instruct the tuareg and fulani people of the north to consume food that is similar to the somali and the basotho of lesotho? How do you instruct animists, islamists, christians and atheists (and permutations of the above) on what is the proper thing to eat? I think our efforts are best spent elsewhere. The fact of the matter is - while the first cases in such outbreaks may be zoonotic in nature, subsequent spread is human to human contact in hospitals and care giving (and occasional ujeuri). Instead of creating a veterinary policy that dicates what is to be eaten (more like impose what foods they should eat and what they should not) we would be best placed to have a health policy.... increase the spending in health, increase the spending in education and in a couple of generations we shall not be sitting ducks. Africa is unfortunate in that it is located in perhaps the toughest terrain on earth, kama sio desert ni dense forest and it's challenges, malaria, typhoid and other diseases plague us due to our locality. This is what needs to be addressed! All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

Some Nigerians clear and forward dogs even after living under the brits. We are simply lucky that our climate is more grassland than forests that are suited for raising cattle. We have more big game animals running around than forested areas. Ni hiyo tu! All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!
