@9.30 for the day high. Hope by Friday it will not re-trace its way back to 9 but way up to 10. One Month to go for most of the stocks and we will know which stock is good at end of Dec. to buy more with Xmas Bonuses.

Wonder how the counters will perform next year. Everything thing points to a sell side. but I wonder if people dont sell by December whether this will be true with the era of CGT knocking in 1st Jan '15.

we are in a low season dec - Jan and it might revisit 8s again unless some good news pop up, but once it leaves the stage in Jan it will not turn back again
There are only two emotions in the stock market, fear and hope. The problem is, you hope when you should fear and fear when you should hope

I have set some cash aside just in case an 8s prints. That will give a guaranteed 20% return into 2015.
Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

There are no many better investment options incase one sells equities fearing the capital gains tax...many will stay put.

Does the CGT impact equities alone or does it also affect fixed income?

Never mind taxes....we pay them when we buy anything from local shop...say a packet of 250 ml milk, a bottle of drinking water, small packaging bag etc. Taxes are for development and barring the only problem is when spent in a bad way.

The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has turned its guns on Nairobi lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, seeking his removal as the arbiter in a long-running Sh4.6 billion dispute with oil marketer KenolKobil.
Kenya Pipeline says Mr Abdullahi can no longer resolve the dispute to the satisfaction of the parties involved after he allegedly exposed his impartiality in an interview with a local TV station.
KPC has filed a fresh petition in the High Court, seeking to kick Mr Abdullahi out of the arbitration accusing him of bias.
The oil transport company claims that Mr Abdullahi’s interview during a live newscast with a local TV station in June revealed that he is not capable of conducting the proceedings with the required impartiality.

So why feed the beast? Are your taxes on milk being used in the manner they should? Are your taxes on water being used to develop the country?

And the profits of the listed firms are already taxed so CGT is DOUBLE TAXATION and this is simply a money grab.

KNEC, IEBC, etc... All these 'pigs' are being fed from onerous taxes!

KPC is just throwing a fit coz the board has corruption allegations dogging them. And this board is not the same one in power when AA was the arbitrator for the KK vs KPC case!

What is wrong with this country??? how can cases of this magnitude drag for years? I find this so retrogressive indeed.

Relate that with Huduma Centres for foreign investors. The Centres will sort out some problems but others will remain.

Huduma centers are a weak PR stunt. Give them 2 years and they will resemble KPTC phone booths. Change has to start from the very top. Certainly we are yet to move away from BAU. By now kukugate should have resulted in very many compelled resignations. Attacks in Mandera etc just reinforce the BAU thesis.

@Kausha. Lemme disagree with you.

Huduma centers are NOT a weak PR stunt, they are helping the masses big time. If at some point in the future they'll be resembling KPTC phone booths, then that's a different issue altogether.

If Thika Highway in the future resembles current Outering Road, would you fault Kibaki/Rao coalition for trying?

Back to KK, i let this thing be mid this year.
