@wukan do you really know what circumcision is? Circumcision is a complex cultural transitional ritual of which the cut is just but evidence or a mark that you have undergone the ritual. That is why during the ritual individuals are isolated for some time and transitioned physically (the cut), mentally and emotionally (via lectures by elders), so that they can become responsible members of the community.

Therefore it's utter nonsense for you to suggest that a mother hires a taxi and takes the boy for "a minor surgery" since the boy will only end up "cut" but not circumcised. FYI women are never involved in male circumcision matters apart from cooking for the initiates.



Relics of the past. Modern kids who grew up in apartments don't go for such shenzi-type rituals. It's a health issue the boy just needs to go for a cut to prevent STIs. There is nothing complex about that. It should actually be done a few days after birth. If circumcision made boys responsible then we wouldn't be talking about the single mothers at all. Culture is dynamic so change with the times.


Is it relic because it's not european?

I'm looking for the day when marrying more than one wife will be an acceptable norm. It used to be the norm in the old testament.wazee wa zamani waliona mbali.when we get there single motherhood will be minimised and we shall have a stable society.
