Something seems to have changed at HF: if it's the numbers, Q3 will give a clue and FY 2019 will provide full judgement. Anything else, time will tell; afterall, the watchdogs (CMA etc.) don't work for retail investors! d'oh! smile

The only change I can see is the rumor that the bank is being prepared for acquisition.

Offloading housing stock at fire-sale prices, to clean up its loan book I suspect, is a loss making proposition. In ordinary times this would have been enough to see the share punished by the market. We walk in strange times.

this board is falling for shillmaster Obiero's pump and dump games. this counter will retrace back to the gutter. No sensible trader can touch this thing with such sahara-esque volumes

Are you saying @Fyatu is not sensible? What is this tirade about. How can I pump and dump what I do not own

This was a 'vapour' rally, fueled by nothing but Wazoo type moshene. Otherwsie nothing has changed in the company, or market, fundamentals to justify the rise in share price (where is Mugundaman to yell Casino when you need him?)

Let me see if I can start another mini stampede.

Does anyone have info that Safaricom is finally about to acquire that long rumored Bank licence? Otherwise how to explain the 'you can leave your money in Mpesa' advertising campaign they are doing to beef up their float?

Come to think of it, it is not such a stretch. Subscriptions have plateaued, voice income is threatened and the competition is getting more daring. Ergo, they need a new gig. And they have the capital to secure a bank licence through acquisition.

If Meba can run health clinics...why not the green monster bank?

Bitterness

Casino!

BTW could you pump Kenya Power for me? I want to offload. Laughing out loudly

Volumes indicate a buying climax. If the rally is purely speculative, this may not end well for buyers at current levels. If indeed there is something concrete like a buyout, then share is still highly disconnected from its potential buyout price. It is unbelievable that the book value of this share is c. 26+ (10,371,446,000÷384,614,168)

they created 500m new shares, may be its a strategic investor at a high price and the rally is share correction towards that price known by some insiders

Maybe this article started the party for speculators. Fund manager buys then pumps?

HF reduces bad loans by Sh2bn in 6 months

It's highly likely that this was (demand has fizzled out) a pump and dump; and now begins the journey to the bottom.

Utajua hujui! In the event that HF posts a profit, minimum KES 18 will be sighted
