What makes you say this? The market normally mirrors the economy. With the Kenyan economy on a growth trajectory, we still have some way to go.

guru, that's like half of the good companies at the NSE. smile I would narrow it down to, say two. I'd go with DTB and KCB/KK. Though with the latter, I'd hold for a longer period

E.a cables at 18 could give you over 50% gain in the next six months since it will immensly benefit from kplc's expansion plan.

i just cant believe that this counter traded at 100KES after the split. slowly it slumped to under 20. this gives me a consolation whenever i make any losses.

Most of this profit growth banks are registering are from a low base...remember in 2009 some of this banks reported a drop in profitability...i think at the current prices and looking into 2011 the banks are fully prices considering they have to make provisions for those high NPL...

deal, haven't the NPL's gone down? I maintain that banks will grow with the economy. But yes, you're right, the growth from next year may not be as spectacular as we are seeing today. What's your take on the effect agency banking will have on their performance? What of innovations such as Orange Money? Real Estate is still booming and the funding of mega-projects will be undertaken by banks. So I would say the banking sector still looks good

Just a question: How come Mauritian banks rank higher than Kenyan banks? I expected with the Kenyan economy bigger, our banks should trump them. www.thefreelibrary.com/E...amic+banking-a0240498607

Liquidity ratios, core capital among others are some of the criteria used in ranking Banks. Perhaps they have stronger points here.
Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

Low levels of corruption, better fiscal management, better transparency, offshore banking center, more & diverse products offered & sold...
